No more Tranny room for Nile, It's now @The Basement.

Hi there,

First Abigail Williams pulls out, now i gotta find a venue i ain't never been to before, in a general area that i'm only slightly familar with- here's hoping there aint 50 flights of stairs at this new venue...

Got this in an email from 'UTR':
The venue for the Nile and Hate Eternal show you have tickets for has moved venues – it was going to be held at the Transmission Room and will be held at The Basement Bar (ex SiloTheatre).

Here’s the statement from the promoter:

Due to venue problems beyond Soundworks Touring and RW Entertainment's control, the scheduled Auckland show for USA technical death metal masters Nile and USA extreme metal beasts Hate Eternal has been changed from The Transmission Room to The Basement (old Silo Theatre, Lower Greys Ave, Auckland CBD)

All current ticket purchases will still be valid.
Any further queries can be directed to rwentertainment@gmail.com

Thanks for using UTR and have a great time at the show!

No Abigail W for NZ

Posted on nzmetal march 12th (i look at it infrequently...)
ABIGAIL WILLIAMS will no longer performing at the Auckland show.

NILE + HATE ETERNAL NZ DATES

Sucks about Abigail Wiiliams dropping out...
The Auckland show, however, is apart (1st of 2 consecutive days..) of the 2010 Audience with the Devil..

Something to keep an eye on: The Omega Chronicles (chch)

From: http://www.myspace.com/omegachronicles
The Omega Chronicles is a brand new project focusing on a new style of conceptual and experimental metal, currently recording their debut album to be released early 2011. The album will be mixed and produced by Neil Kernon (Nile, Cannibal Corpse, Nevermore, Jeff Loomis, Deicide and more)
It is essentially a collaborative project between Benjamin Luke (Guitars, Bass, Drum Programming and Sampling) and 23 other musicians (vocalists and Session Guitarists) from Christchurch, New Zealand.

We have a copy of the single "Alpha Destitute" [featuring Sophia Di (Beneath the Silence), Manu Francois (Word of God)] which we have played, and will again this Monday and probably in future shows too..

New Bloodletting Tracks up on myspace

Auckland metallers, Bloodletting have put up 2 new tracks, "Godless" and "The Possessionist" on their new look myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/bloodlettingband I listened to both tracks just now, and i like them..

And here's a myspace quote: "2010 will see Bloodletting playing many shows / tours around the country, release their split E.P. with longtime friends Never Repent as well as entering the studio with producer Zorran Mendosa to record their 2011 full length studio album.."

Also- facebook thing

They have a split EP with Never Repent, check out bloodlettings myspace blog for details of where to buy it, or go check 'em out live, at a show or something- it's bound to be there.

Check out both bands on the "Seas of Red" Tour with The Dauntless
or at:

Converge @ K A, (12/MAR/10) & Devin townsend proj @ tranny room (20/MAR/10)

Cellphone pics of Converge at the Kings Arms, March 12th 2010.

I'm kicking myself for not bring my camera to this gig, i'm a huge fan of Devin Townsend, SYL etc etc, have been since i picked up SYL's self titled, in 2003 the year of its release. Further more, good ol' Hevy Devy did an improptue meet and greet, signing session after the gig- pity i didn't stick around.
These are the best shots i managed to get with my phone.

Cellphone pics of the Devin Townsend Project at the Transmisson Room 20th March 2010.

2010 North Island BlacktoothTour of Metal.

Hamiltonian Metallers, Blacktooth are gonna show the North Island what they got. Heard nothing but praise for these guys, and their poster has a hint at the 2010 Audience with the Devil, the night before that particular show in Auckland, Nile & co (see poster) would have torn audiences a new set of ear holes.

NZ metal verson of a Supergroup opening for Behemoth, JFAC, Goatwhore

Quoted from Facebook
"Gareth Craze 's new band MOLEST THE EPISCOPATE (featuring Ross ex-Antagonist AD, Jeremy of Dawn of Azazel, Josh of Bloodletting and Paul ex-Force Fed Trauma) will be opening for Job For A Cowboy, Behemoth and Goatwhore on Saturday April 10th at Transmission Room. Our MySpace goes live soon and we'll have demo tracks up then. Sinister anti-religion/anti-socialism death metal. Nasty as fuck. Hope to see you all there to support us!"

antagonist ad are touring Australia throughout March/ early April, returning for a supporting slot at the Ruiner show at Zeal, Henderson

hfhshow interviews Sharne Just One Fix guitarist

Ahead of their show down at the Boys Day Out in Hamilton this past weekend (13/14th march) we chat to Sharne, founding member of Auckland thrashers Just One Fix.(Watch out for Vocalist, Riccardo's homage to the crotch grab in one of the bands promo pics on their myspace. ;p ;p) Tune into the show each & every Monday night 11pm to 1am, in NZ, to catch details on when i'll broadcast the interview..

Meshuggah @Transmission Room 4th March 2010

Had a wicked night, Fornaz Chemica (support act) was wicked too. Meshuggah was excellent, so wicked- i also noticed their sound and lighting was expertly done, till i realised they seemed to have their own guys for that, (with mighty beards too)

Ran into, Jesse (Set on End), Gavin & Ben (6 day War), Renee (Cripple Mr Onion) & Facebook Rachel & her mate Kurt (Sturgeon) & heaps of others too.

Got me an "Obzen" shirt, bright blue, i can add it to my growing collection of metal shirts, and by growing i mean, already pretty big...

Converge @ Kings Arms, 12th March 2010

Got to the Kings arms nice and early, early enough atleast to catch the two support acts.
I forgot my camera, so had to try use my phone, but due to the frantic nature of (most of) the Converge performance, all my pics are somewhat blurrrrred..

Wicked night, Converge were insanely awesome. I'm thinking i might get some neck tattoos so i can be more like the bands vocalist, Jacob Bannon.
thanks to promoters Josh & sam @ Shogun

& i'm shouting out to people i saw (maybe said hi or just saw there...) Sean(In Dread Response, amongst others) and brento (Everyman for himself, amongst others) & Steve (Steelmill)

Kulus posts new tracks

West Auckland 3 piece have put up a couple of rehearsal tracks up- just follow the link below
