An all ages Charity gig for the people of Christchurch. Since a lot of us can not go down and help out or donate large amounts of money, we can all help out by coming along to this show. Doors will open at 2pm and there will be a $10 door charge, all proceeds will go to the Christchurch relief fund after the security cost is covered, unless there are any sponsors willing to cover this cost? If there are any people willing to don...ate some more money than feel free, they can use all the help they can get.
no alcohol, drunken behavior and drugs at the venue.
if those of age want to go to the pub for a drink feel free, except those who are driving.
anyone who doesnt abide by the rules and screws up the night will have alot of pissed of people to deal with, this is a good will show.

Legion (band)

Max Cavalera Interview!!
Earlier today I received an email asking if I want to interview (via phone) Max Cavalera as the new Cavalera Conspiracy album, "Blunt Force Trauma" is being released in NZ next Monday.
I am rather excited about this. All going well, I'll play the interview on the show; Monday 28th March.
We've already heard and played on the show, a couple of new songs, "Killing Inside" and "Blunt Force Trauma"

Friends of the show, Dreams of the Dead & Mothra are playing at the Kings Arms with (now) Auckland based Mutangent, something/one called Fall of Kings and recent decent song addition (i.e. the track "Blessed Wings") to the hfhshow library, Resporn, who's new album "Divisionary" is due out April, hopefully in time for their appearance at the Christchurch metal weekend charity gig(s) on the second night- Saturday 9th @ 4.20 (Next to the Rising Sun on K Rd)

* Auckland extreme metal outfit, Scaphist, have posted their album, "Majestic Seal of Antiquity" for free download at the following location: http://hotfile.com/dl/108157490/eefc88f/Scaphist_-_Majestic_Seal_of_Antiquity_(2011).zip.html
* Legendary Brazilio-Americano metallers, Sepultura, have announce the name of their next album to be "Kairos".
* Devin Townsend, while busy working on various rock-band projects and new albums, has covered Frank Sinatra's, "New York, New York" on a compilation called something like, "SIN-atra". Check out his version here: http://soundcloud.com/eagle-rock-entertainment/sin-atra-new-york-new-york
The album consists of various other metallers covering Sinatra tracks but this is the best I've heard (by far) so far..
* Video games have long used music, and recently heavy metal to add to the atmosphere etc of play, but for the upcoming game "Homefront" math-metallers, Dillinger Escape Plan are covering "Fight the Power" by Public Enemy. It's hard to judge how this will turn out given the mixed results in the past with (awesome) Aphix Twin cover vs (average) Soundgarden cover.
ALSO, activity on twitter suggests that the Dillinger Escape plan front man, Greg Puciato, might collaberate with Devin Townsend on a song, that could very well re-define awesome. Puciato has previously guested on songs by Genghis Tron, Prong, Every Time I Die, Soulfly and Architects.
* All girl band Kittie have finished writing new material.
* You can download for free a compilation of underground industrial metal bands thanks to "Death to Music" & "Industrialized Metal Zine" here: http://www.archive.org/download/FEA_vol7_DTM064/FeaVol7-Dtm064.zip (it starts the download straight away)

Resporn new album details & new song streaming
Local lads, Resporn, have been working with NZ metal powerhouses; Zorran Mendonsa (New Way Home, Cobra Khan, Subtract, In Dread Response, Solstate, Black River Drive, The Mark Of Man, Set On End, Arc Of Ascent, Bloodletting, Brandon Reihana, Antagonist, Saving Grace, Just One Fix, Sticky Filth, Enercia, Subtract, and many more) and Evan Short (Subtract) on a new album, "Divisionary" due to be released in April.
New song, "Blessed Wings" is up on their facebook etc for streaming, sounds pretty good so you'd better go check it out (try the reverb link for a more direct route to the song)
