Mothra, NZ's version of themselves

Mere minutes ago I received an email with song attached from Mothra with the comment suggesting that there's more to come including a video. The track I have been blessed with is "The Beginning" and Aaron Harris of Isis fame mixed it.
If you're quick off the mark, you'll be able to catch me blast the track on tonight's (Feb 27th) hardfastheavy show or the podcast that follows.

I recommend you keep an eye on the links below, to keep ahead of the crowd so that you too can get hold of some wicked Mothra.

Malevolence, Inside Arkham, Filthy Lucifer, Nullifier, Whammy Bar, March 2nd.

Screw that fat boy slim, skillrex Vector Areana not-my-sorta-thing gig (I had to fully re-configure my google to find a non-metal gig on the same night, just so I could make a joke, which wasn't funny so I cut it any way!)
Just as the title says; Malevolence, Inside Arkham, Filthy Lucifer and Nullifier will be at the Whammy Bar on Friday March 2nd.
It kicks off at around 10.30pm, and I've always said that Malevolence playing live are a must see, for any self-respecting metal head.

Alright, look, the google I came across said the fat boy slim thing starts at 6pm- so there's plenty of time for you to mash unsuspecting, run of the mill, mainstream boys and girls before saving face by slogging it up to whammy by half ten.

On top of the Lamb of god, The Black Dahlia & Unearth gig at The Studio March 7th 2012 https://www.facebook.com/events/278188748867942
and the official after party which kicks of the minute lamb of god finish their set, with live performances from Aussies State of Integrity and NZ's own In Dread Response  https://www.facebook.com/events/298015783585924

On top of all that, Lamb of God will be doing a meet and greet, or in-store signing or whatever it's called, at the spacious and airy Jb-hi-fi Queen street. https://www.facebook.com/events/113633788761330/
You will be able to get up close and only a wee bit personal while basking in the glory of the Virginian band, much like I did the first time they played in NZ, at the powerstation.

Also, check out http://www.reverbnation.com/fuelset to hear their songs, "The Reputation of the Flesh", "20year Storm", and the downloadable 1st single of the new album which was released a few months back "Leading Goats to Water".

IDR & co shaves for charity

In Dread Response with Scaphist, Jurassic Pengiun and others will be performing at a Canteen charity gig out west at Zeal west March 15th.

The poster also mentions something about people getting their heads shaved: I just hope the magnificent auburn locks of IDR vocals Ginge are safe; for they certainly would be quite the prize for any hair-fetishist.

Ulcerate adds US dates, metalsucks.net will be there

Local lads, Ulcerate have added some north american tour dates in May this year (2012) leading up to their slot on the Maryland Deathfest. I understand there are 8 or so and that New York based heavy metal wordsmiths, metalsucks.net are involved with the tour as well.

The band are currently stomping through Europe / the U.K all through Feb, on a tour that seems to be in association with Terrorizer magazine, a favoured mag of mine- and the only one I'd cough up for a subscription for, although I've yet to see a monthly issue only the secret history of thrash edition.

Eight Foot Sativa sparks to life

The band that pretty much was the early to mid 2000's, 8 Foot Sativa have announced news via facebook that the band may not be on hiatus for much longer.
This is what appeared on https://www.facebook.com/pages/8-Foot-Sativa/34126202744 (2 Feb 2012)
"Hey everyone!! long time, Can't wait too see you all! We've got lots of stuff planned for this year, including the greatest hits compilation and the 5th album which we are currently writing now. Sorry it's been so long, Stay tuned!!"

Please note, that while this sounds awesome etc, just check out this update from Nov 2009, shortly before the hiatus was issued in early Jan 2010 and The Mark of Man was born.
Ok, we have so much shit happening right now! A new single and video will be posted shortly, along with a re-vamped myspace celebrating the upcoming release of our best of CD & DVD entitled TEN YEARS OF SATIVA. The CD will include the best tracks taken from each of our albums, including 2 songs from our upcoming fifth album! The deluxe version will include a DVD that contains all 8 Foot Sativa videos ever made!

I think, that what makes this different is the addition of Nik Davis (Perditionist) and "Hate Made Me" / "Season for Assault" vocalist, Justin "jackhammer" Niesson listed as band members along side 8 foot back bone Gary Smith.

Am I prepared to relive my late teens/early twentys: yes I think I might be, let me check with the wife...
