"It is with sincere disappointment that RW Entertainment must announce that WHITECHAPEL's one-off New Zealand appearance on Thursday September 22nd at The Basement in Auckland has been cancelled in the wake of the ongoing fallout surrounding the cancellation of the Soundwave Revolution festival circuit in Australia.
Despite previous categorical assurances from Whitechapel's management and booking representatives that the show was still "100%" on track to proceed, it has since transpired that the band's Australian promoters were unable or unwilling to continue to provide for their appearances in that market, and the band have been left with no option but to cancel their Australasian dates altogether.
The cancellation is particularly disappointing in that the show was receiving such positive ongoing feedback from fans and was selling extremely well - particularly after it was switched to The Basement to accommodate an all ages crowd. We have no doubt this would have been one of the premier metal club shows of the year in New Zealand, and having to cancel less than four weeks out is a bitter pill to swallow indeed.
Full refunds will be available from the respective points of purchase. Alternatively, all Whitechapel tickets purchased through UnderTheRadar can be directly exchanged for tickets to THE WORD ALIVE's two New Zealand appearances during the same week (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=217798754910361). Anyone wishing to transfer tickets over has until Wednesday September 7th to do so, before refunds are processed in full.
RW Entertainment would like to extend their most sincere apologies to the fans, ticket-holders, support acts and presentation partners for any inconvenience caused by this announcement, and hope that everyone understands that the circumstances leading to this cancellation were beyond our control and that of Whitechapel and their management."
