Beastwars self-titled album

Wellington band, Beastwars new self titled debut album is set to be released this Monday (9th May) and they accompany this with a national tour, that kicked off in Wellington over the weekend- most importantly for me, they'll be in Auckland at the Thirsty Dog, May 28th.

We're going to have one of the lads on the show on Monday 23rd May (The Monday just prior to their Auckland show)

I am not one for reviewing albums as a matter of course, I possess neither the patience nor the linguistic and musical wherewithal to accurately articulate my opinions in a manner befitting, what essentially is the ultimate result of many hours of practice, recording and cost that any new record represents.

Having said that, the bare boned, unselfish motives behind a music review is to allow the reader/listener to ascertain whether or not the subject of said review is what they would fork over their cash for the record or check out on tour. So in this, I have no qualms in regurgitating what others have so eloquently stated for this strict, unselfish purpose.

Scott Kara, of the NZ Herald .co nz gave this album a 5/5, and I have no reason to disagree. I have had the album on repeat, blaring through my earphones since I was lucky enough to be granted a copy a week or so ago, and I will continue to have it on repeat till the next thing comes along to move it, which will probably be the new Devin Townsend in several weeks/months..
On May 23rd, when one of the Beastwars guys will be on the show for a chat, I'll certainly be pressing the point of pushing this album into all avenues; international radio/blog/labels everything, I reckon. Ulcerate put NZ on the map this year already, surely Beastwars can do the same.

You can go check them out at http://beastwars.bandcamp.com/ where the album already seems to be available for purchase and/or:

Incidentally, the wicked album artwork was done by an old uni mate of mine.
