Hfhshow interviews Opeth

I just got off the phone with Martin Mendez, Bass player for the mighty Opeth. We'll air the interview in August; so stay tuned for more info on that.
The band will be releasing their tenth album (7th for Mendez) "Heritage" on September 16th via Roadrunner Records, and are currently on the festival circuit in Europe, having played at Bonaroo, Hellfest, Graspoop and a couple of Sonisphere dates amongst others so far during June/July.

I had a chance to stream/listen to the album and think that Opeth fans will like it, but if your music diet consists of nothing but death metal; it may not be your thing.. I liked it, it'll take me a few proper listens to fully grasp it, but I like it.

Trivium upcoming album & interview

'In Waves' and 'Dusk Dismantled'- Two tracks from Florida based metalcore thrash rockers, Trivium's upcoming album "In Waves" out August 5th, seem to have been released. In Waves is available from iTunes now, whereas the other track is probably on youtube for you to check out.

Of the album, a label press release says the album's not a concept album but it does have a unifying theme; the music, artwork, vids and tour are interconnected, making the record the most complete project they've ever done. Also, that the music still has the guitar driven edge that fans love (and expect) but some tracks are pushing further in their heaviness and aggression; also all the visuals be it album art, music vids, stage shows or even 'web properties' are (or will be) designed to take fans on a journey, like a graphic novel come to life.

Anyways, we're due to interview newest member, drummer Nick Augusto, who's been drumming for Trivium since founding member/former drummer Travis Smith left, this upcoming 'In Waves' album is his [Augusto's] first full length studio effort for the band.

Tracklisting:
1. Capsizing the Seas.
2. In Waves.
3. Inception of the End.
4. Watch the World Burn.
5. Dusk Dismantled.
6. Black.
7. Built to Fall.
8. Caustic are the Ties that Bind.
9. A Skyline's Severance.
10. Forsake not the Dream.
11. Chaos Reigns.
12. Of all these Yesterdays.
13. Leaving this World behind.

A special edition has 18 tracks including a cover of Sepultura's 'Slave New World' & DVD with a making of, live and music video videos..
