Heavy Metal Wanaka: Podcasts

To summarise: I was on 95bfm as host of the Hard Fast Heavy Show for a good number of years, and this blog used to have the URL 'hardfastheavy.com'.

Since then I've moved to the incredibly scenic town of Wanaka in N.Z's South Island, and set up shop as heavymetalwanaka.com  with podcast, music show, youtube channel and more social media pages than anyone has need of.

This old blog was just sitting there gathering dust, so I thought I'd go through and re-tag the many hundreds of posts I did during my time on radio as "An old Hard Fast Heavy post", which would leave me space (I guess) to add more current posts about what I'm doing at the moment, which I'll tag as "Heavy Metal Wanaka- it's what I do now" As an example of this- I've embedded a youtube playlist of my new podcast at the top of this post..

Pros:

1. It's a heavy metal podcast.
2. It is FREE.
3. It's updated weekly.
4. No email addresses required.
5. No captcha required.
6. It's from a real radio broadcast, with all the awesome pitfalls that implies (i.e. no second takes).
7. Can listen to it on apple products like the itouch (and I assume others like ipads, iphones etc)
8. Can listen to it on laptops that are connected to the internet.
9. Can listen to it on P.C's that are connected to the interent.
10. Can listen to it with headphones so no one around can eavesdrop in on your tunes.
11. Sometimes we have interesting non-song stuff, like interviews and me farting or more likely burping as I persist with fizzy, carbonated drinks when talking on air.
12. You can listen to it at any time during the week before it is replaced, so you don't have to worry about staying up to 1am on Monday night/Tuesday morning to hear the live-broadcast.
13. You can listen to it, potentially, when I (the guy who talks ) will be asleep or otherwise occupied and thus nowhere near a radio microphone.
14. We publish the playlist on the 95bfm website with the podcast link as well as on here, hardfastheavy.com, so you can keep up with all the songs that are playing: if you missed the forward and back announcements of the songs...

Cons:

1. Requires internet connection.
2. Requires ability to perceive audio to take full advantage.
3. Helps to be a fan of Heavy metal, and hard fast and heavy music in general.
4. Requires volume on internet-capable device to not be on mute or so low you can't hear it.
