Times of Grace, the new project that reteams Killswitch Engage guitarist and producer extraordinaire Adam Dutkiewicz with original KsE vocalist Jesse Leach, are offering an exclusive, free download of the song, “Strength in Numbers,” on Saturday from 2am Aus EST time/4am NZ time.



The song will be downloadable for 48 hours at www.roadrunnerrecords.com and the first single to hit radio.



"Strength in Numbers” is the dynamic first taste of the band’s debut, The Hymn of a Broken Man, which is due in stores on January 14 in Australia and January 17 in New Zealand, 2011. Times of Grace is the second go-round for Dutkiewicz and Leach, who enjoyed incredible collaborative chemistry on KsE’s definitive debut, 2002’s Alive or Just Breathing. Times of Grace doesn’t revisit the pair’s fruitful past; rather, it finds them taking a creative left turn away from what they’ve previously done, without diluting their signature styles as they explore new musical terrain. There’s an old adage that says the only way out is through, and with Times of Grace, the singer and guitarist were able to use the vehicle of music to overcome and work their way through personal struggles.


Times of Grace just shot the video for “Strength in Numbers” with director Robby Starbuck just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. The video will make its debut imminently.

Nooo! It was only a few weeks ago that I got to talk to Trivett over the phone, regarding the bands new album "The Warp Riders" and what was their upcoming christchurch support slot for Metallica.
Can I still use the radio sting? I hope it still counts... ;p

Austin, Texas based heavy metal outfit The Sword has announced that they have amicably split with drummer Trivett Wingo. As a result of this, all of the band's scheduled tour dates have been cancelled.
A message from the band reads as follows: “We wish Trivett nothing but the best, and it is with heavy hearts that we bid him farewell. He is a phenomenal musician and has been an integral part of this band’s success. He helped to lay the foundation that we will continue to build upon, and we wouldn’t be where we are without him. We wish he could continue the adventure with us, but we understand that the life of a touring musician is not for everyone. It’s been a hell of a ride, and we’re sad to see this part of the journey end. The show must go on, though, and we'll be back on the road as soon as humanly possible.”
Wingo himself states: “It is with deep sadness that I am announcing my departure from The Sword. After nearly seven years and some of the most amazing adventures of a lifetime, I have arrived at a place where I am physically and emotionally unable to continue on as part of The Sword. If I could go any further, I would as I love the music and JD, Bryan and Kyle are people that I deeply respect, but I have reached a point where I just can’t do this anymore. I would like to thank the wonderful people who made this experience what it has been: the fans, the people that I have worked and all of the bands and musicians that have inspired me over the years. I thank you and apologize for any disappointment that this may cause anyone, not least of which The Sword.”

New Connection ala Metal: Catchy 11/10/10

A few weeks ago we ran a segment of songs that all had a vague connection. In our usual fashion, we'll be expanding the definition and will be putting together a full 2hours of hfhshow of catchy metal songs.
The idea of catchy isn't generally one that is applied to metal, but we're gonna give it a crack.

Tune in to hear our selection on Monday the 11th of October.

To give you an idea: So far we've got the likes of Pantera- Walk, and Slayer- South of Heaven as suggestions, and will be limiting the number of covers, and Rammstein, Austrian Death Machine, Dethklok, etc songs.

Hey  folks, Dev here, I left my camera in the studio so I’m using the Imovie. So I think I’m about 75% finished “Ghost” and it seems like it’s going to be a double record and the label has graciously agreed to do that. I got it kinda in the ball park, mix wise and we leave on tour in like 2 weeks so gotta get it finished into mastering before then. It’s gone really well, pretty easily, it’s a pretty diverse record. I’ve been very fortunate to have some really cool people involved it , obviously Mike and Dave play drums and keyboards. A lady named Katrina sang the  vocals, female vocals, a great job. Kat Apple (?) who’s a flute player, did all the wind instruments and just amazing work, I’ve been listening to her since I was a teenager so it’s a real big honour to have her agree to be on one of my records, in all honesty shocking but did such a great job, as you can hear >indicates  background music< So,  Deconstructed’s next, we’ve got this American tour and then I come back and do Deconstruction and it looks I’ll be using the Prague Symphony choir for certain elements of that, it looks like that’ll be a double record too, so no sleep for the turtle-esk. Enjoy, there’ll be some more updates soon. Hope your doing good.

We have been awarded the opportunity to have a talk (Phone) to someone in the Pennsylvanian metalcore band August Burns Red.

Among other things, including heading off on a European tour (with a few sold out dates) very shortly, they'll be hitting our shores in December, as apart of the "No Sleep Til" Auckland
